Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in the activities of places of public accommodations (which includes schools) and requires newly constructed or altered places of public accommodation to comply with the ADA standards. As a result of these requirements, serial plaintiffs’ lawyers are filing a wide range of cases alleging various building accessibility and website accessibility violations.
