Keynote Speaker
Pat Smith

Sponsored by Milady

Pat Smith is an open vessel that believes her purpose began the moment she emerged into the world. While her roots were established in Chesapeake, Virginia, her Dallas, Texas residence is where her flourishing legacy is unfolding. Since graduating with a journalism degree from James Madison University, Pat has been entrusted with dynamic roles including minister, author, executive producer, speaker, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Acknowledged as the first African American woman to win the Miss Virginia USA title and placing as first runner-up in the 1994 Miss USA Pageant, Pat has mastered the art of poise under pressure.

Though she has been blessed with many successes, Pat has also experienced difficult hardships; among the most heart-wrenching being the loss of her mother to breast cancer at the young age of 22.

Rather than allowing life’s challenges to thwart her purpose, she employed them to ignite her passion! Because of her heart to serve the community Pat has focused efforts on underserved children and women in need.
