Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology values philanthropy by providing our employees, students, and clients the opportunity to lend a helping hand and contribute to charitable causes by fostering their own sense of community.
For children, growing up and finding their place in the world, how they want to present themselves, and whom they want to associate themselves with is already a lot of pressure. Think about having to try to do all of that while looking different due to the loss of hair.
As one can imagine, the mental toll that would take on a child is already going to be significant without even considering the reason why they have hair loss. Whether it be due to cancer treatments or from other factors such as alopecia, burns, or another illness, no child should ever have to feel different.
That’s why Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology is so proud to support and be part of the Children With Hair Loss family. This non-profit organization provides human hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults facing medically related hair loss. Each hair replacement and care kit includes: a human hair replacement, styrofoam head, suction stand for styling, hair care products, styling brush and/or comb, skin-safe tape, and head wraps. Each kit costs approximately $1,000 to prepare.
To assist in raising funds for this amazing organization, Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology’s eight locations (found across the state of South Carolina) have been hosting in-house fundraisers. Through advocacy, support, and donations from clients, staff, and students, Kenneth Shuler Schools have been able to raise over $6,000 thus far. However, we are not stopping there. It is the goal of the company to raise $8,000 each year. In return, every $1,000 raised will then be matched with an additional $500 by the Kenneth Shuler corporate office with an end goal of $12,000 total being raised by the whole Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology team. It is Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology’s hope that we can help as many children as possible by improving their lives with renewed self-esteem and custom-fitted wigs.
